Transmission may well be described as the "finger print" of a substance. The spectrophotometers manufactured by A.Krüss Optronic GmbH enables liquid substances in standard test tubes to be illuminated by transmitted light in the wavelength range 200-1000 nm. At various wavelengths, the amount of light passing through the sample can be measured. On the basis of this information, the substance can be identified and the concentration of the substance in the sample determined.
